    • There is a section of land that was claimed by Azerbaijan called Nagorno-Karabakh. This area is populated by people of Armenian descent. The Armenians feel that Nagorno-Karabakh should belong to the republic of Armenia while Azerbaijan would like to keep it because the land is good and there are some Azeris living in the area.
